A structured foundation for purposeful creative production
The ImaginePlus Creator Certificate: Level 1 gives your institution a structured program for connecting artistic intention with AI-assisted experimentation, selection, and revision. It is created for learners who have been made aware of sophomore-level concepts. That describes prior conceptual exposure, not a requirement to be a college sophomore.

Educational fit
Preparation is more than a year of study.
Across eight modules, learners make work, explain decisions, respond to instructor critique, and develop a final audiovisual production with sound lasting up to two minutes. Each stage invites faculty to look closely at how an intention becomes a choice in image, sound, rhythm, or presentation. A promising first attempt becomes the beginning of a conversation: what did the learner hope to communicate, what can an audience perceive, and what might a considered revision make clearer? The program gives this conversation a structure while preserving room for different artistic interests and ways of working.
The institutional question is whether the program offers an appropriate next step for your learners' preparation. Prior exposure to ideas about narrative, expression, and critique may come through different learning routes. Your faculty's approved placement process determines fit; a year-of-study label does not make that decision automatically.
Designed for adult learners. Sophomore-level describes prior concept exposure, not age or enrollment year. Faculty determine appropriate or equivalent preparation.
“an active and constructive process”
The learning pathway
Eight modules. Creation from the beginning.
Learners develop an artistic intention, compare variations, select material for a reason, make responsible sourcing or disclosure decisions, build a coherent audiovisual sequence, and explain revision after critique. The finished production matters alongside the evidence of choices made to produce it.
Eight modules describes the curriculum, not an eight-week commitment. Cohort dates and workload are agreed with the institution.
01
Art, Expression and First Creation
Create a first artifact and explain its artistic intention.
02
Understanding Generative AI
Compare variations and identify useful capabilities and limitations.
03
Human Expression and Creative Choices
Develop story, character, visual design, voice, music, and atmosphere.
04
Responsible AI Creation in Practice
Make and document a responsible sourcing or disclosure decision.
05
AI Industry and Creative Experiments
Connect an industry or tool example to a creative experiment.
06
Building an Audiovisual Sequence
Shape picture, sound, rhythm, transitions, and cues into a short production.
07
AI Critique and Revision
Revise the work in response to instructor critique.
08
Presentation and Creative Explanation
Present the finished production and explain its choices and responsible practice.
What faculty can examine
The work, and the choices behind it.
The final audiovisual work includes sound and lasts no more than two minutes. Explanation and revision accompany the finished production.
Sources may include writing, artwork, sound, music, movement, voice, images, or video. Fiction and abstraction are welcome. Personal disclosure, appearing on camera, and an unmodified personal voice are not universal requirements.
Creative-industry context
EGOT and the NAACP Image Awards
Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony are often abbreviated as EGOT. They are four award families, not one awarding body. The NAACP Image Awards are a separate program.
These references help educators place our learning outcomes in a wider creative-industry context. ImaginePlus defines and assesses its own certificate requirements. The named award organizations do not issue, accredit, endorse, or guarantee eligibility through these certificates.

01 / Published rule, category, or context
Emmy
Emmy: human storytelling. The Television Academy's 2026 statement places human storytelling at the center of recognition and permits questions about AI use. This is the 78th Emmy competition's guidance, not a statement for every Emmy organization. [A01]
ImaginePlus educational connection
Modules 1, 3, and 4 introduce intention, expressive choices, and clear accounts of tool use.
Faculty evidence question
“What did the learner want the audience to experience, and which decisions served that intention?” Examine the statement of intention, selected sequence, and explanation of AI contributions.
02 / Published rule, category, or context
Grammy
Grammy: sound and authorship. The 69th rulebook's engineering guidance considers the finished recording, mix, sound quality, and technique; its AI eligibility rule requires meaningful human authorship relevant to the category. These are distinct quality and eligibility provisions. [A03]
ImaginePlus educational connection
Modules 4 and 6 help learners make sound a purposeful part of the audiovisual work and identify contributions accurately.
Faculty evidence question
“Why is this sound or music here, and what contribution is the learner claiming?” Review a sound cue, its purpose, sources, and credits. Do not count using generated music as proof of songwriting.
03 / Published rule, category, or context
Oscar
Oscar: creative authorship. The 99th rules ask voters to consider the human role in creative authorship when digital tools are used; the Academy can request more information. That rule does not make a classroom production eligible for an Oscar. [A05]
ImaginePlus educational connection
Modules 2, 4, and 8 connect experimentation to selection, responsible sources, and an explanation of the finished work.
Faculty evidence question
“What was generated, selected, arranged, or revised by the learner?” Use a concise source-to-result example and accurate credit statement.
04 / Published rule, category, or context
Tony
Tony: differentiated creative roles. Published categories recognize direction, design, sound, choreography, and other contributions to qualifying Broadway productions. A category list is not a percentage-based classroom rubric. [A07]
ImaginePlus educational connection
Modules 3 and 6 introduce the relationship among performance ideas, atmosphere, visual design, and sonic choices.
Faculty evidence question
“Do the choices support a coherent expressive intention?” Review the sequence and a short rationale identifying the learner's design decisions. The certificate is not an award for performance technique.
05 / Published rule, category, or context
NAACP Image Awards
NAACP Image Awards: representation and creative contribution. The 58th program spans multiple media and uses nominating committees; published materials situate it in recognition of Black excellence and wider cultural impact. [A08]
ImaginePlus educational connection
Modules 1, 4, and 5 invite attention to whose perspective is expressed and how sources and cultural context are handled. This is ImaginePlus's educational interpretation of that context.
Faculty evidence question
“Can the learner explain the perspective, context, and sourcing choices in the work?” Examine intention, references, and reflection without prescribing identity, optimism, or political agreement as grading criteria.
Educational connections are ImaginePlus interpretations. Eligibility rules, award categories, and voting procedures are not a shared classroom grading rubric. External rule changes do not silently change an enrolled cohort’s criteria.
Assessment & institutional delivery
Human judgment stays responsible.
Authorized humans assess the work against the approved program requirements, provide feedback, and make certificate decisions. Institutions should review criteria, assessor responsibilities, accessible alternatives, reassessment, and appeals before a cohort begins.
Process records can contextualize choices. Prompt history, timing, clicks, and input events do not prove originality or establish misconduct by themselves. Where faculty AI assistance is enabled, it may organize evidence or help draft feedback; it does not own the official decision.
The institution arranges and pays for enrollment. ImaginePlus facilitates institution-specific registration and access for the approved cohort duration. Teaching, assessment, support, generation allowances, and any reassessment services are agreed for the cohort.
Payment purchases participation and included access. Earning a certificate requires successful assessment. The end of cohort software access does not itself expire or revoke an earned certificate.
